FISHTANK Update 9/23

Coins now weigh 27.9 grams. I think that the dirt has been removed for the most part, leaving mostly encrustation.

The Ant with the small hole has a darker patina, but is covered with a dark green encrustation.

The blackish provincial seems to have a near black patina, with some light green encrustation. I initially thought that the black was dirt, but it is shiny and the toothbrush falied to remove any.

The oval coin is showing some metal, and seems to have a patchy light green patina. I haven't figured out if it is actually patina or that light encrustation that is somewhat powdery yet.

The small radiate has a rough surface with some dirt adhering still.

The small green provincial still has light patches of dirt, that I haven't been able to remove, even with the DDDP.

The black/brown/green thing is a lump of encrustation. It will be zapped.

Lastly, the IoviCons has that hard, compact clay on it that is so difficult to remove.

Overall, I'd say that this was a decent ending result, especially for some coins that turned out to be problem coins.

With a fast silver brushing, three of these cleaned up to what I called done. The two heavily encrusted were zapped, and the clay covered one was thrown back in. The lightly encrusted Ant needed some grinding, but it turned out okay.

Since I did this 6 weeks ago... I don't have the scans of the finished coins (or I just can't find them), and the coins are lost to the masses.
