| Silver Brush and 3M Radial Bristle | |||||||||
| Here are 3 dirty
coins as I received them. I haven't soaked, brushed, poked or zapped them
in any form or fashion. They are actually too dirty to really show the benefits
of using this procedure as a finishing technique. First scan are the coins
as I received them. Second scan shows the effects of the silver brushing.
I brushed each coin 5 or 6 times in one direction, then rotated it 90 degrees.
Last scan shows the coins after about a ten second brush with the 3M 6 micron
radial bristle brush at around 5-6k rpm. The small ant was showing bare metal on the bust and some other high points, and the Sec Reip was showing metal on some of the lettering. Someone was interested in this procedure, so I thought what better way than to demonstrate on some coins that I had just purchased from him... that's why they were so dirty to begin with, when this is actually my finishing procedure. |
